Naming What We Feel

Feelings become lighter when they have language. Not fixed forever — just held, gently, long enough to be understood.

I used to treat feelings as weather I had to endure. Now I try to greet them by name.

Sad. Overwhelmed. Grateful. Lonely. Hopeful. Sometimes several at once, like colors mixed on a palette.

A small practice

When something rises in me, I write one sentence: Today I feel ___ because ___.

It is not therapy. It is honesty on paper. Often that is enough to soften the edges — and to remind me that feelings move, even when they seem stuck.
